This website is dedicated to the research and conservation of wild Pacific salmon. Managed in memory of Jim Lichatowich, who worked on Pacific salmon issues as a researcher, manager, and scientific advisor for 54 years. He specialized in the history of salmon management and the life history and status of salmon and steelhead populations and the development of restoration plans in the Pacific Northwest.
Jim's books include:
Salmon Without Rivers: A History of the Pacific Salmon Crisis, Published by Island Press, and
Salmon, People and Place: A Biologist's Search for Salmon Recovery, published by Oregon State University.
"Managed Extinction" by Rick Williams and Jim Lichatowich will be published in November 2024 - available in book stores and online stores, including Amazon.com.
